The words, in plain terms

Premium (Prämie)
The fixed monthly amount you pay your insurer — whatever care you use.
Franchise (deductible)
The annual amount you pay yourself before insurance starts to contribute. You choose it between CHF 300 and CHF 2,500 (adults). A higher franchise means a lower premium.
Co-insurance (Selbstbehalt)
Once your franchise is used up, you pay 10% of any further costs yourself.
The CHF 700 cap
Your 10% co-insurance is capped at CHF 700 per year for adults (CHF 350 for children). Above that, basic insurance covers everything.

Get a reminder before the deadline

We'll email you in time to review your premiums and switch before the 30 November deadline.
